Data sources and credits
Path's plans draw on public U.S. data and on facts from published sources, and Path is loading public data from other countries to prepare for serving them. This page credits them, as their licenses ask, and lists the fonts and software the app uses.
1. O*NET (job skills and descriptions)
Discover and job descriptions use occupation titles, descriptions, other job titles, skills, knowledge, abilities and job zones from the O*NET database. The O*NET database is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, which requires this credit:

2. U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (wages and job outlook)
Wages come from the Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS) national estimates, and job growth and openings from the Employment Projections. Both are works of the U.S. government and are in the public domain.

Releases used: OEWS May 2025 national estimates and Employment Projections 2025–35 [update when newer releases are loaded]. BLS does not publish exact yearly wages above $239,200, so very high wages show as "at least $239,200". BLS has not reviewed or endorsed Path. bls.gov
3. College Scorecard (colleges near you)
The Map section uses college names, locations, websites, admission rates, average net prices, graduation rates and sizes from the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard, a work of the U.S. government in the public domain. We get it through api.data.gov.

4. Jobs and pay outside the United States
Path is getting ready to serve people in other countries. To do that it loads the public sources below: a link between U.S. job codes and the international ones, job names in other languages, and pay and job-outlook figures by country. Sign-ups are open only in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand for now, and plans do not show these figures yet. We select, reformat and label these figures and may convert them for comparison, so what Path shows is a modified version. None of these publishers has reviewed or endorsed Path. Each credit below is the one its license asks for; figures are as retrieved on the date of the last data load: [date of the last load, from the data register].

Job names in other languages (ESCO)
Occupation and ISCO-08 group names in up to 28 languages come from ESCO, the European classification of skills, competences and occupations, which may be reused for any purpose under Commission Decision 2011/833/EU.

International Labour Organization (pay, jobs and unemployment by country)
Median and mean monthly pay of employees by ISCO-08 major group, employment by occupation group and unemployment by age, from the ILOSTAT database. ILO datasets are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. We do not use the ILO's name or emblem other than to credit it.

5. ROR (colleges and universities outside the U.S.)
For people outside the United States, names, cities, regions, map coordinates and websites of colleges, universities and other education organizations come from ROR, the Research Organization Registry. ROR releases its data under CC0 1.0, a public domain dedication, so no credit is required. We give one anyway:

6. UNESCO Institute for Statistics (school years)
For people outside the United States, the months each country's school year starts and ends, the age upper secondary school starts and how long it lasts come from the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS). UIS licenses its data under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0, which requires this credit:

We changed this data: we converted country codes, kept the newest value for each country, and corrected a few values and added some regions (such as Scotland) from official national sources. The school-year table we build from it is shared under the same license, CC BY-SA 4.0. UIS does not endorse Path. 7. Facts pack sources
For 22 popular goals, Path keeps a "facts pack": short facts, each written in our own words, with the publisher, the year and a link to the page that states it. The app shows the source next to every fact it uses. We link to publishers and don't copy their text. How these facts are checked is on About the AI.
The facts are refreshed regularly, so the list below is loaded live from the current version. Open a goal to see its sources.

Names and trademarks of the organizations cited belong to their owners. Citing them does not mean they endorse Path.
8. AI
Plans and answers are written by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic. Claude is a trademark of Anthropic. Path.ai is not made or endorsed by Anthropic. See About the AI.
If we run some parts on our own computers, they use gpt-oss-120b by OpenAI, released under the Apache License 2.0. [confirm the license and OpenAI's usage policy for gpt-oss; delete if not used]
