Terms of use

1. Who can use Path

Path.ai is run by Feynman Labs Ltd ("we", "us"). It is offered for people in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. You can use Path if you are at least the minimum age where you live: 13 or older in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada (14 or older in Quebec), 15 or older in Australia, 16 or older in Ireland and 18 or older in New Zealand.

If you are under 18, please read these terms with a parent or guardian, and ask them before acting on any part of a plan that involves money, travel, meeting people in person or your physical safety.

2. What Path is

Path helps you think through a goal: it maps possible routes, estimates your odds, finds useful next steps and suggests a daily routine. It is free and has no ads.

To keep Path free for everyone, there are daily limits on AI use (lower for people aged 13–17), and a cap on our total AI spending each day. When a limit is reached, AI features pause until the next day. We may add, change or remove features, or stop the service, at any time. If we plan to shut Path down, we will try to give notice in the app so you can export your data first.

3. AI answers and odds

• Written by AI. Plans, routes, verdicts and chat replies are written by Claude, an AI made by Anthropic. The AI is not a person. See About the AI.
• They can be wrong. The AI can make mistakes, miss recent changes, or state something confidently that isn't true. Check anything important, such as entry requirements, deadlines, costs and eligibility, directly with the school, employer or official body.
• Odds are estimates. The odds are a simulation built from rough pass rates for each stage of a route and the details you entered. They are meant for comparing routes and seeing which habits matter. They are not predictions about you and not a promise of any result.
• You decide. You are responsible for the choices you make. A low number doesn't mean you can't do something, and a high one doesn't mean you will.

4. Not professional advice

Path gives general information and planning ideas. It is not medical, mental-health, legal, immigration, financial, tax or career-counseling advice from a qualified professional. For decisions like those, talk to a qualified person, such as a doctor, counselor, school counselor, lawyer or financial adviser.

5. Safety

Path is not a crisis or emergency service, and nobody watches chats as they happen. In the United States, if you are in danger, call 911, and if you are thinking about suicide or self-harm, or are worried about someone, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or text HOME to 741741. Outside the United States, if you are in danger right now, call your local emergency number.

Don't follow any suggestion that seems unsafe, unhealthy or illegal, even if it came from Path. Tell us with Report this answer.

6. Your account

Your account is anonymous: there is no name, email or password. It lives in the browser or app on your device. Anyone who can use your device can see your plans, so keep your device locked.

We can't recover an account you lose access to, for example after clearing your browser's data or losing your phone. Export your data from Settings if you want a copy. Accounts not used for 24 months are deleted, as described in the privacy policy.

You must give your real age on the age screen. Please don't create accounts for other people.

7. Your content

What you type in and the plans Path makes for you are yours. You give us permission to store them, process them and send them to our service providers (including Anthropic for the AI) only to run Path for you, as the privacy policy explains. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from backups that roll off on their own.

You can use your plans, résumé summaries and outreach drafts however you like. Because they are written by AI, other people may receive similar text, and we can't promise that AI-written text can be protected by copyright. [counsel: confirm ownership wording for AI output]

Only add content you have the right to use. When you report an answer, you agree that we can read the report to improve Path.

8. Fair use rules

Please don't:

• break the law, or use Path to plan anything illegal or harmful to yourself or others;
• try to get sexual content, hateful or harassing content, or instructions for violence, self-harm, weapons, drugs or cheating from the AI;
• enter other people's private information (for example a classmate's grades or a stranger's details) without their permission;
• use Path as a general-purpose AI, or try to get around its prompts, safety rules or limits;
• create accounts in bulk, use bots or scripts, scrape the service, or overload it;
• try to access other people's data, probe or attack our systems, or copy the app to build a competing service;
• pretend that Path, Anthropic, or any school or government body endorses you or your plans.

AI features must also be used in line with Anthropic's Usage Policy.

9. Other people's content and data

Path uses public data from U.S. government sources and facts from published sources, each shown with its source. See Data sources for the credits and licenses. Links to other websites are for your information; we don't control those sites and aren't responsible for them. Names of schools, employers and organizations appear only to describe them, and don't mean they endorse Path.

10. Stopping or suspending

You can stop using Path at any time and delete everything in Settings → Delete my data.

We may limit, pause or close an account that breaks these rules or puts other people or the service at risk. Because accounts are anonymous, we can't always warn you first.

11. No guarantees

Path is provided free, "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we don't promise that it will always work, be error-free, or that any answer, fact, odds estimate or plan is accurate, complete, current or right for you. 12. Limits on our responsibility

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses, such as a missed opportunity, a decision you made based on a plan, or lost data, and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to [amount, for example US$50]. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that can't be waived. [counsel: confirm enforceability for users under 18]

13. Disputes and the law that applies

If you have a problem, please write to us first at legal@feynmanlabs.com; most things can be sorted out quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of [State] and applicable U.S. federal law. 14. Changes

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date. If a change matters a lot, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using Path after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can stop and delete your data.
